clearTaking on a Rescue Dog

Taking on a rescue dog can be one of the most rewarding relationships you can have with a dog. Traditionally people predict that rescue dogs come with problems, as why would they be in the rescue home in the first place?

Generally speaking what tends to happen is the dog is let down by humans, they are possibly the most intelligent of the bunch and are clever enough to ask the question ‘Why?’ ‘Why should I do this, give me a good reason’. Taking on a rescue dog you have the power to right the wrongs.

Take a look at the video below showing Jan Fennell
working with an owner who has just taken on a rescue dog
and is bringing her home for the first time.

If you are new to the world of Dog Listening, the book “The Dog Listener’ or the DVD of that title, prove the perfect introduction. As Dog Listeners we recognise the psychology, values and driving forces that dictate every dogs nature and its instinctive reaction to all situations and with this knowledge every dog owner is empowered to avoid behavioural problems before beginning to kindly change undesirable behaviours no matter how long they have been evident, the age of the dog or its breed.

Give Dog Behaviourist Rachael a call to have a quick chat with her or or fill in the Contact Form and Rachael will respond to you promptly and personally.
